4.8 STILL not handling folders right

Just added another image of what I'm talking about, you can see the difference between 4.6 and 4.7.
As you will see in 4.6 it never used to show (Ministry Of Sound -) but now in 4.7 it dose....

If you look at my first post you will see the difference between 4.6 and 4.7

Also the the album artwork needs to be fixed

I'm hoping a 4.7 fix will be released to have it handle album folders like it did in 4.6 as well. 4.7 runs much faster for my library, but my albums are not sorted like my directory structure. I don't want to reinvent the wheel. Thanks!

im here due to Audiogalaxy shutting down at the end of January...So far I have it set up right but also notices a weird thing with tag display....maybe I'm missing something?

Quick example of one group of MP3's on my drive.

90's
> I Love the 90's
>> artist - track.mp3

Now while all the tracks are tagged with artist and track name, i have the Album Artist set to "Various Artists"

Why when i import my 90's playlist to Subsonic does it display the Track Name with the Album Artist name underneath instead of the Track Artist name?

EDIT: DOH...i just got rid of the VARIOUS ARTIST album artist tag and now it names it correctly

Whats really anoying to me, is that a lot of people here (and the developer) do not seem to realize not everyone uses SubSonic for Music.


I use it for television shows... Most of my television shows do not have meta data.... They do have episode numbers at the begining of the file names....

like such: C:\TV\ShowName\01 - Episode Name.avi

.... subsonic now ignores "01 - " .... cant load meta data from an AVI...... and sorts all my television episodes alphabetically (so they are all out of order, you have to use wikipedia to findout what episode u should watch next...)...

This is beyond retarded. If you're going to use Metadata you have to support it in all media types. I even tried giving some of my .MKV's track numbers in their meta-data.... but subsonic does not read metadata from MKV, or AVI, or etc

This was a very very very very misguided and half-baked update by the developer. He did not consider at least 2/3rds of his audience, and how they use subsonic.

I will be rolling back to 4.6 for the time being :-\

I went back to 4.6 ages ago, no way will I upgrade again until I know all the problems I'm having are fixed...

Just upgraded to 4.8 and this problem has still not been fixed!!!

I feel maybe I need to look elsewhere for a media system
