Follow the following instruction to speed up download speed
.Remove any spyware on your computer by installing an anti-spyware program. Follow the directions to install and run it. Spyware monitors your keystrokes to gather personal data and transmit it over the Internet. It can significantly slow down your download speeds by cluttering your bandwidth.
.Call your Internet service provider and upgrade your service. If you are on dial-up, which has the slowest downloading speeds, switch to cable, FIOS or Direct Service Line (DSL). If you already have one of the faster services, upgrade to a higher download speed. You will have to pay more, but it is the easiest way to speed up your downloads. Your uploading speed will increase, as well.
.Go to the Start menu if you have Windows XP. Select "Run" and type in gpedit.msc, then hit Enter. Find the "Administrative Templates" link and click it, then select the "Network" tab. Click the "QoS Packet Scheduler" link and select "Limit Reservable Bandwidth." Find the "Bandwidth Limit" and change it to zero. This stops Windows XP from reserving portions of your bandwidth for updates.
.Install an anti-virus program. Viruses take up bandwidth in order to self-replicate and attach themselves to your outgoing files.
