Install on Ubuntu leaves incomplete /var/subsonic

I've completely removed subsonic on ubuntu with:
dpkg --purge subsonic

I'm trying to install the latest version now. Everything appears to complete successfully but the only files/directories in /var/subsonic are 'subsonic_sh.log' and 'transcode/'. The log is empty.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Devin

Does anyone have any ideas on this? I tried the stand alone version as well but when I execute the script nothing is entered in the log file.

Thanks.
