Disable the settings of ALBUM_ARTIST to the actual Artist
Posted: Mon Sep 10, 2012 5:48 pmI'm running 4.7 beta 3 and it has seemed to of changed the way it finds artists.. instead of reading the %ARTIST% tag for sorting by artist, it figures it should use the %ALBUM_ARTIST% tag instead for the artist. I have my collection set up by the %ARTIST% tag and not the album artist one. I've seen in other threads where people have done this, but I haven't figured out how.
I just realized it was a problem when looking at my playlist and I have a bunch of "Various Artists" when in fact that song is only 1 artist.
Edit: This change is probably what screwed it up: REST: getArtists now only returns album artists. it could also have something to do with: Use "album artist" tag if present. I have spent a long time organizing my collection to get rid of the "Various Artists" bit and now it just comes back
