Subsonic Forum

Hi. Ive had subsonic running for a while now (donated, love the app).
Out of the blue, it just stopped connecting. completely, not from the web, nor will the service start.
on windows 7 32 bit.
using event viewer, this is the message that it shows after trying to manually start the service:

The Subsonic service is marked as an interactive service.  However, the system is configured to not allow interactive services.  This service may not function properly.


when I try to run it from command line i get an "error 5".

I dont recall changing any settings that would affect subsonic (firewall, ports) so i am clueless.

Edit the service account and enter logon credentials for a user with access rights to your media files libraries.

If that doesn't work I suggest you do a google search using the text from the error message.
It would appear that a number of people have had that issue with quite a diverse range of apps.
However the fix seems to be a bit complicated (to me at least ) and quite often contradictory.
I have not seen any posts here with that problem so as far as SS is concerned it is thankfully rare.
