V0 VBR MP3 - that's it!

All I'm looking for is variable bitrate (V0) transcoding from FLAC to MP3. This will be played on my Android phone. I used the recommended settings as follows: ffmpeg -i %s -ab %bk -v 0 -f mp3 -

...but only get constant bitrate 320 and no album art tagged to the files themselves. The album art isn't really a big deal, since artwork is saved in the 'artwork' folder, albeit lesser quality than I would like. Speaking of tagging, is there any way to have the file names not include 'complete' at the end of the song title? My main goal is to have the files transcoded as VBR, and second goal is a LAME setting of at least V1, preferrably V0.

Flac to ogg works very well on Android.

I've heard that from others on here. Though I'd prefer MP3, would you be so kind as to tell me the transcode settings I should use to get something comparable to LAME V0? I'd like to give your recommendation a try.

I use the ffmpeg that was released in version 4.4 and rename it Audioffmpeg then use:

Audioffmpeg -v 0 -i %s -f ogg -vn -acodec libvorbis -ar 44100 -aq 6 -ac 2 -map_meta_data 0:0 -

for the transcoding

ogg audio | mp3 m4a flac wav wma | Audioffmpeg -v 0 -i %s -f ogg -vn -acodec libvorbis -ar 44100 -aq 6 -ac 2 -map_meta_data 0:0 -

-aq 6 sets the quality to 6 whcich is very good. If you need lower bitrates, I've gone as low as aq 2 with good results streaming at about 96kbps which is sometimes handy in low bandwidth environments. Wikipedia has a good explanation of the various ogg settings if you want more detail.

This link should let you download my Audioffmpeg file if you have trouble getting ogg to work with the ffmpeg version you are running.

Try using ffmpeg -v 0 -i %s -f ogg -vn -acodec libvorbis -ar 44100 -aq 6 -ac 2 -map_meta_data 0:0 - with your install first to see if it works, if not try my setup.
