Problem with Podcast ID3 tags
Hi board!
I've been using Subsonic for a while now (and donated a month or two ago, having easy access to podcasts on my phone is encouraging me to go running more often, so Subsonic is good for my health
) and have been finding it in general - awesome. I've just upgraded to 4.7 and have spent the afternoon pulling my hair out with one particular podcast I listen to.
The problem manifests itself in the following way: In order to access the podcasts with iSub and the android app, I have a symlink (Windows 7 x64) from my music root to the podcast folder. Going via the symlink, I can only see at most 1 episode of this podcast even when there's more than one episode in the folder. If I try and access the podcasts using the podcast option in the web client then I can see and play all the episodes fine.
The podcast in question is here http://network.absoluteradio.co.uk/core ... ave_gorman and after a lot of faffing about, it seems the problem is the podcast always has identical ID3 tags (The RSS feed has information about specific episodes though). Now, with subsonic 4.6 the podcasts having the same tags was a bit annoying, but I could see them all and work out where I was roughly in the list of episodes by using the length. In 4.7 I can only ever see one episode of a podcast on a mobile phone. I've worked round it by adding semi-random ID3 track numbers to each episode I currently have, but this isn't a long term solution.
From a selfish point of view, the ideal fix for me would be an option in the podcast downloader to overwrite the ID3 track tag with the title element from the rss feed. Of course, a more general fix would be to not 'hide' files with identical tags. Getting both would be lovely!
Thanks.
