Hi,

Today i've donate to subsonic and open the premium features, like "Your personal server address: yourname.subsonic.org."

i've configured my NAMESERVER.subsonic.org in the network settings like instructed on the website and i get and error :
Failed to test web address. Cannot assign requested address: connect (BindException)
you can see in the attached screenshot below:
Image

so i'm trying to access my server internally and externally over the internet by using MYNAMESERVER.subsonic.org with no success,
my port (4443),and it is open on my router because i'm using
for a month now over the internet with my external ip address : https://external.ip:4443 and it's working fine.

so why am i getting on the network settings "no router found" and an error on my SERVERNAME?
can someone please help me figure it out?

my subsonic software details :
Version 4.7 (build 3106) – September 12, 2012
Server jetty-6.1.x, java 1.7.0_07, Windows 8 (75.4 MB / 84.0 MB)

and some lines from the log file:
[10/10/12 10:43:58 AM IST] WARN NetworkService Failed to register web address.
[10/10/12 10:43:58 AM IST] WARN NetworkService Failed to test web address.
[10/10/12 10:44:05 AM IST] WARN NetworkService No UPnP router found.

For the router issue, it sounds as if your router does not support, or does not support correctly, uPnP which is what subsonic uses to dynamically set up port forwarding on your router. So either it supports it well enough to open the port but did not return the correct response to Subsonic, or you opened the port manually.

As to the second issue, does your computer have multiple IP addresses?

I have a router model : ciscoe4200 and it is UPNP support, also I checked in the configuration that it's enabled.

And about your second question you are right, I have two Ethernet cards, one is my main and connected to my router, and the second and in different subnet that connected to another computer.

Those settings can cause this issue?? I only wanted to register my NAMESERVER that it would be easy to access externally over the internet.
And I think that the issue that the subsonic is not recognizing the router may cause this issue? Because the log says : no upnp router found, failed to register web address.

BTW i open the port manually of course, bas i said i'm currently using my external ip to access subsonic and i want to use my "easy access name server" (SERVERNAME.subsonic.org)

SS (java) has a table of predefined routers to allow it to use the correct rules for uPnP port-forwarding
All that message is saying is that it cannot find your make/type of router in its table so MAY not work correctly.

With regard to your myname.subsonic.org address try adding some more characters to the myname part.
There may be a minimum number of characters reqd :?

I would suggest turning off https and just use 4040 to start with - get that working - then re-enable

i have disabled all my ethernets except my main one that connects to my router, i have changed back the subsonic to port 4040, and i have checked access over the internet by using my external.ip:4040 and i have access.

i got back to network settings and changed my SERVERNAME to yoavtestyoav (more characters), and still both problems remains.

i'm lost here and don't know what to do.

Just testing the external address from inside your network is no guarantee that the site is accessible from outside the network as some routers recognize that you are requesting its external ip address and just reroute internally.

Go to http://canyouseeme.org and test the port assigned to subsonic.

This webpage is not available
Google Chrome could not load the webpage because 37.142.117.191 took too long to respond. The website may be down, or you may be experiencing issues with your Internet connection.
Here are some suggestions:
Reload this webpage later.
Check your Internet connection. Restart any router, modem, or other network devices you may be using.
Add Google Chrome as a permitted program in your firewall's or antivirus software's settings. If it is already a permitted program, try deleting it from the list of permitted programs and adding it again.
If you use a proxy server, check your proxy settings or contact your network administrator to make sure the proxy server is working. If you don't believe you should be using a proxy server, adjust your proxy settings: Go to the wrench menu > Settings > Show advanced settings... > Change proxy settings... > LAN Settings and deselect the "Use a proxy server for your LAN" checkbox.
Error 118 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT): The operation timed out.

The port may be open, but there isn't anything listening on it at the moment. Did you donate and install your license key? You may have opened the port, but Subsonic is not receiving the attempt to communicate with it. That means that either the router or the firewall are blocking the communication, or Subsonic just isn't listening to that port.

you didn't succeed to enter this ip cause i connect my computer directly to the internet and it cause the ISP modem to hook me up with new ip address.

and i manage by doing this to solved this case, i did the following steps :
1. i've connected my computer directly to the internet (without my router)
2. i got new IP address from ISP.
3. i open subsonic and got back to network settings and i have successful managed to register a "easy name access".
4. i connected my router back BUT i enabled Clone MAC feature on my router in order to get the same ip from my ISP and it worked!
5. i tried to enter SERVERNAME.subsonic.org after i got back everything connected and it still worked!
6. just for the sport i tried to registre an "easy name access" again and it didn't worked so some how it cannot bypess my router

but now everything is working cause i registered with my current ip address and it still on, even tough i still have this error:
Failed to test web address. Cannot assign requested address: connect (BindException)

so from my side this thread can be closed.

I have a router through at&t which does not support upnp and subsonic works fine, did you go into router and add rules for the ports? Try using (your ip):(port number)....eg 37.142.117.191:4040
