Step by step WAR upgrade?

Been looking around the forum for this, but unable to locate. I'm sure it's around somewhere though. I'm trying to update my Madsonic 4.7 from 3112 to 3155, but there is only a WAR update and a Windows "setup.exe" update, which doesn't apply to me since I am on Linux.

Is the upgrade as simple as making a backup of the /usr/share/subsonic folder, then overwriting the files in that folder with the files from the new ZIP file and restarting the subsonic service? Or are there some steps I am missing? I'm not understanding whether the ./jetty/3112/.... folder path will be erased and replaced with a ./jetty/3155/.... folder path with all appropriate files in the correct places. Are all of these files located within the .WAR file?

Thanks in advance!

I made a script to do it on debian/ubuntu, and also a tutorial.
It was intended to work with madsonic (a subsonic mod), but it will also work for subsonic.

Oops, I didn't see it was you, gurutech.
On fedora, war update is the same !

The jetty directory is automatically created, no need to worry about it.
