4.7 video playback issues

Good afternoon all,
I have just reinstalled SS and input my license key. This solved the earlier issues i had so thanks to all who tried to help.

All is not well though. When I try to play videos through SS, I get the "Video not found or access denied:" error. When I try playing the videos through an external player, the player says "caching" and eventually even stops displaying "caching". Although I AM able to play videos through the external players (VLC, Mplayer) when not trying to access them through SS. This fails on all video formats, avi, mp4, etc. I did run across this line in my subsonic.properties file VideoTrialExpires=1349717647695 Does this mean that my video capability may have expired? My vanity URL works, so I have donated.

I have verified that the file permissions on the video directory are set to allow anyone to read and write to the files and directories (777) so permissions shouldn't be an issue.

I have tried the solutions I have seen on the forums but to no avail. I have verified that the ffmpeg symlink is active in /var/subsonic/transcode. Any and all help would be appreciated.

The server is running Linux Mint 13
Multicore processor
8 Gigs ram

Try playing a flv video - I would suggest putting it in one of the music folders
(Download a music video from youtube :D )
That will eliminate any folder permissions and transcoding errors hopefully.

That was interesting. The FLV video played correctly, so I assume this points to a transcoding issue. As a test, I also uploaded an avi file to the same directory and it failed. Any suggestions?

Try playing a non mp3 audio file (I suspect that it will fail)
If it does fail then you need to check your ffmpeg install.
It may out of date or something else is wrong :?
Search the forum for help for your OS.
