I just upgraded to 4.7. On 4.6, whenever I added or changed file or directory it was instantly updated. So far with 4.7, it seems like the database is only going to update once per day. This doesn't work for me, because I'm constantly adding and changing files in my library.

Is this user error, or is this a new way of business for subsonic 4.7?

It's expected behavior in 4.7. You'd have to force a scan every time you've changed your library.

The search index is updated by the settings you defined (eg daily) as per 4.6
However with 4.7, to see any new artists in the left frame you have to hit the refresh link (at the top)
Make sure you do not have fast access enabled as that may stop it seeing any changes
I have my 4.7 set-up scan media folders every 60 days but I can see any new artists in the left frame np.
(Just cannot search for them)

I have Fast Access disabled, but I am still unable to see any new folders in the left-hand menu. With 4.6, I never had to change any settings, it just instantly saw new files/folders and let me access them.

Is there any way to have 4.7 operate in that way?

Why would this change be made? 4.7 seems like a good update, but this is a major flaw for me. I use Subsonic to listen to a daily radio show that downloads via RSS. This new "feature" would mean that I will have to wait until I get home to force a rescan before I listen to it, which entirely defeats the purpose is using Subsonic.

If I can't get this working, I will have to switch back to 4.6

As I have already said it does - well it does on mine
10 mins ago I added a new album, by a new artist (for me), hence a new folder,
and after hitting the refresh link in left frame the artist appeared no problem.
The only thing that has changed is you that you seem to need to hit the refresh link to see the new stuff.
(But 4.6 quite often needs a refresh browser or frame to do the same)
