First time user of Subsonic. I have the server set up with a few videos and mp3s. I can play them with a browser from other systems and from the android browser. When I use the subsonic app, it's able to connect successfully to the server but there are no files listed and search returns nothing.
I'm using the trial version of the server and the app version is 3.6 from sourceforge
Samsung Galaxy S2, Cyanogenmod 10

The android application does not display files that are in the root folder of a shared media folder.
Are these files in a subfolder inside the shared media folder?

Yes, that was the problem. I can see the files now. Thanks!
Now there's a new problem. Audio files are working but Videos don't play. It says null (510 kbps mp4 > flv). When I click on the video file, I get the option to select a browser to complete the action with instead of letting me use the Video player I have installed. If I long press the file and click on Play Now, it starts downloading it but doesn't play it.

Install Flash. It is required for video playback on Android at the moment.
(I know it is not that easy... there are quite a few threads here that describe how. Search for Flash and ICS in the same messages)

Oh, that's too bad

I don't want to install a proprietary application so I'll try something else. I'll look into modifying Subsonic so that the playback is handled by a thirdparty application. I'm also not running ICS. I'm using Jellybean.
