Bug in Android application when ran in Jellybean 4.1.2. The following information below pertains to the Subsonic Android application I attempted to post elsewhere but I have not received any acknowledgement of the issue in question. In the efforts to get this bug resolved I'm posting it here hoping to get some acknowledgement on the issue and hopefully a fix for when running Nexus 7 tablet.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My only complaint is the following bug:
Bug found with the client side Android Subsonic application in version number 3.5 and 3.6.
First off I’m using a Google Nexus 7 16GB tablet. The OS revision that it is using is v4.1.2.
The first bug is when playing a song with Subsonic through the Android application I get dropouts which last .3 - .5 seconds it only happens once or twice in a song but it is very annoying. Second any song I play has the issue but the song is coming off my local network and the entire song is done being cached within 5-7 seconds. Next if I play the cached copy with another player such as the Google Music player it plays perfectly fine however if I go back to Subsonic I get the .3 - .5 second dropouts again. I tried the 2 previously released versions of the app and the problem still exists. However, if I run the app on an older version of android like 2.3.4 it is fine. Go figure! Anyway I didn't mind dishing out $4.44 for the ad removal although I don't agree with all the aspects of Subsonic I think overall it is a very good product and I don't mind supporting the efforts of something I use everyday, but please sindre_mehus please fix the above bug.
BTW I'm not using ANY transcoders as the coding for them has been removed and disabled so its a straight stream in MP3 320kbps
I have the same problem using Subsonic Music Streamer or DSub with my Nexus 7 (Android 4.2.1). The problem appears with both streamed and fully buffered mp3s.
Does anybody has this issue too? Is it a Nexus or a client problem? It is really annyoing, because my whole subsonic scenrio is wortless with these dropouts.
best regards
I've been looking at this and the only time I can get the player to have issues is that I can drop outs when a file is done downloading i get a brief pause. I think I solved it (at least it is working on my working device), but can you go to here and try out the beta to see if it helps with this issue?
Also, are you guys having this issue when the app is literally doing nothing else? Like is it downloading the next files when this happens, or is it literally just playing a cached file?
PS: I'm really hoping I can get this solved for you guys. I have been dedicating a decent chunk of time trying to track this down this past week.
Samsung gs3 here. Running android 4.1
Mine gives the slight pause ~10-15 seconds in, regardless of being fully cached or not. I can go back to 4.0 android version if you think that will help.
Also I am running a stock subserver right now.
I have testet the beta and it is worse. I have more dropouts than before and even fatal stops. Somehow I belive it appears when touching the screen but couldn't proof this.
What's the difference between Dsub and Subsonic Music Streamer ?
