Hello,

We are facing a problem with our subsonic site as it is not able t detect some media files present on the server, though it is showing the folders related but is not showing the files inside that folder. Please assist us regarding the issue.

This can happen occasionally if the database has a problem.

Simple fix.

Click on Settings

Clear the check boxes on ALL "Enabled" folders.

Click "Save"

Click on "Clean-up database"
Click on "Scan media folders now"

Reenable media folders

Save

Rescan media folders.

Hi, I have similar problem here, and must have to de/reactivate media to see new medias....
Is there another way to "auto" this task ??? (I mean new media aren't automatically counted despite each day "Scan media folders" on).

It should work properly after doing the procedure I've outlined above. I've had the same symptoms that were fixed after cleaning up the data base and rescanning. Once it's cleaned up, assuming you don't have any improper shutdowns or do anything to corrupt the database, new additions should show properly after the nightly rescan.

I have two Madsonic servers running, one holds the original library and the second is on another server that accesses music that is stored on a Raid array that is a mirror of the original library. New music is uploaded to the original collection several times per week. At 2am Synctoy copies any new music to the RAID array, then all my subsonic sites do their rescanning at 3am. That way it becomes obvious whenever anything doesn't refresh properly.

Since I cleaned and refreshed all the databases on my sites, I haven't had any issues with new music not showing.

I isolated the problem : I have both a NAS and a local drive.
- On the local drive (w/ E:\Music p.e.) new media are correctly added
- On the NAS ( //NAS/anywhere ) No add done ....

I presume there're rights problems on the NAS but, as it is an internet box, I (apparently) have no way to change this ....

Any Idea ?

"//NAS/whatever" works but not the letter assigned in W7 (p.e. Z://whatever ).

You are correct. Any files not stored on the host server must be accessed as a defined network share rather than a mapped drive. You must then be sure to edit the Subsonic service logon rights to use an account name and password that has permission to access the share.

NP - I've haven't put much effort into trying to set up access to a cloud storage share. That may not work. Inside my network accessing shares works fine. Keep us posted on how you make out.
