I just downloaded and started to configure subsonic. When I went to test the url, I was unable to get to it. I got a splash screen stating my trial expired and I need to donate. However, I just downloaded it today, and the trial says it expires 28 Dec 2012. Is this feature not part of the trial? If that the case how does one access subsonic outside the server?

I believe the subsonic.org is a premium feature, not available in the trial version. To access you server remotely, you will need to use your ISP service's IP address, along with the properly opened port (eg. 69.xxx..xxx.xxx:8080).

Just use your external ip address:port#

http://74.110.53.107:8088/subsonic

Will take you to the logon page of my server.

I have to add the /subsonic because I'm using the war version, if you're using the regular Windows install do not include the /subsonic.

The URL should look the same as the internal url except you need to swap the external ip address with the internal when trying to access from outside the network.

Of course, all the port forwarding and firewall entries have to be set properly.

I am actually using CENTOS, not sure if that will affect anything.

It doesn't matter. Whatever the address reads in your browser when you open the local instance, just substitute the external ip in place of the internal ip when you want to access the site from outside the network. As long as your router frowards the request for the SS port assigned to the local internal ip, it's the same thing and should connect to the server.
