No sound from my music files, local network ok

I have windows 7 and a Vortexbox Appliance with Logitech Media Server and subsonic with preinstalled links , an Actiontec router WRI424WR.
I have a successfully registered web address & Subsonic is assigned a static IP address. Everything works fine locally, as far as I can tell.
But when I access my subsonic web address from a remote website or with my fone I can log in and see my playlists & music files but I cant get any sound.
Now that should cover problem discription
Trouble shooting ........reset, reinstall, reboot everything over & over
Playback application? ........that must be the vortexbox or the LMS ........right?? ok, let's see....
subsonic version? its gotta be the latest one right? ......let me go see

Java memory limit ........wt? .......hold on
hmmmm, just realized something, subsonic is installed on the VBA which runs a Fedora16? .......gotta check that .......yea 16 (verne)
If the last three things REALLY need to be answered to resolve this let me know & I'll try to figure it out.
But hopefully I've given someone who is familiar with this problem enough information & they can tell me how to resole the problem.
