Unable to access server from mobile after creating playlists
Long-time user with a 50,000 song library, finally decided to explore the concept of playlists.
Generated the following starter playlists from within the Subsonic desktop interface -
Brian Eno Archive (517)
Deutsche Grammophon Avant Garde Archive (79)
Early Synthesizer and Moog Archive (544)
Electroacoustic Archive Part 1 (284)
Electroacoustic Archive Part 2 (235)
John Cage Archive (700)
Karlheinz Stockhausen Archive (1201)
Klaus Schulze Archive (29)
La Monte Young / Eternal Music Archive (86)
Morton Subotnick Archive (12)
Philip Glass Archive (536)
Philips Prospective 21e siecle Archive (96)
Tangerine Dream Archive (1483)
Problem:
They each queue up and play properly from within the Web interface, but on my Android device when I tap the 'Playlists' button it times out after several tries and reports:
ERROR
A network error occurred. Please check the server address or try again later.
When I attempted to refresh my library on the Android device I discovered that I'd lost all connectivity to my subsonic network. I can log in and play tracks from the PC with no problem, but I receive the "Network error occurred" time-out message on my phone when I try to refresh my music library or when I select my server from the server menu.
Attempts at resolution
1) Checked the Web interface Log and no errors are reported
2) Stopped and re-started the Subsonic desktop process
3) Selected the Demo server on my Android device and tested playlists - they load with no issue
4) Re-selected my server, no access.
5) Stopped and restarted the Android app. No change.
6) Turned off the PC and the phone. Restarted. Verified Subsonic working on PC. Still dead on phone.
Version:
Windows 7, Subsonic v4.7.
The only other thing that has happened today on my PC was a Windows Update (which I've disabled for the future.)
Curious if my playlists are too long for the app to handle? (a few are 1200-1483 tracks) The playlists that only denote 12 and 29 files contain album-length FLACs, so their playlist lengths are approx. 6-18 hrs each. The longer lists are around 155 hours each.
Thanks for any input! Once I get this working I plan to explore Musiccabinet to better manage my library. I'd love to hear solutions if the problem is indeed playlist size, particularly so that I can generate a Ninjatune record label playlist (153 hr) and an Underworld Mk1-Mk3 playlist (193 hr).
Such lists would greatly facilitate access to their albums!
