Correct permissions for linux Tomcat install

Postby spookybathtub » Sun Dec 09, 2012 6:36 am

I'm trying to troubleshoot my non-functional subsonic installation on Tomcat6, running in Ubuntu 12.04. I noticed some strange permissions on the /var/subsonic folder — several of the files in there have user: root, group: tomcat6. Can anyone tell me if that is correct? I'm guessing the group should also be tomcat6. I'm not sure if that even matters, but like I said, I'm troubleshooting. By the way, in the past I had a standalone Subsonic installation, so maybe some of these files are left over from that?
Here's an example:
Code: Select all
drwxr-x---  7 root tomcat6    4096 Nov  2 18:46 ./
drwxr-xr-x 15 root root       4096 Dec  3 20:02 ../
drwxr-xr-x  2 root tomcat6    4096 Nov  2 18:19 db/
drwxr-xr-x  2 root root       4096 Nov  2 18:42 db.backup/
drwxr-xr-x  3 root root       4096 Nov  2 18:42 jetty/
drwxr-xr-x  5 root tomcat6    4096 May 23  2012 lucene/
-rw-r--r--  1 root tomcat6 2141851 Nov  2 03:00 subsonic14.index
-rw-r--r--  1 root tomcat6   10207 Nov  2 18:42 subsonic.log
-rw-r--r--  1 root tomcat6    1069 Nov  2 18:42 subsonic.properties
-rw-r--r--  1 root root      80119 Nov  2 18:46 subsonic_sh.log
drwxr-xr-x 14 root tomcat6    4096 Oct 19 20:58 thumbs/
