Posted: Thu Dec 27, 2012 6:58 pmI think somebody else posted this issue on the forum too, and solved it by the usual uninstall/install/scan everything/lose your users and playlists etc. Sindre made a lot of changes in 4.7 compared with 4.6 regarding the media file handling. It seems to work well for some people but cause all kind of issues for others, and this looks like such an issue to me. (duplicate rows in the database / a non-distinct join statement etc)
I don't know what solution to propose as you could mainly (1) go through the uninstall/install procedure again (2) switch to 4.6 (3) switch to something else (4) wait for 4.8 and hope it gets solved (5) try to patch it yourself.
There isn't really a check-box for "don't add duplicate album artwork in recently added".
You could always report it to Sindre and setup an account for him and send him your database to check. But I've no idea if he's just drowned in emails or if he'll read it.
I guess it all boils down to "there are known issues in the 4.7 file handling and there are currently no official dates posted by the only author on when a fix will be available".
