Subsonic looks like the answer to all my problems, only I am having such a problem setting it up, I am not sure I will ever get to use it.

I am able to log into subsonic and wanted to test it with a small folder on my mac, however SS keeps changing the path/location so I cannot host my own files it seems.

Subsonic recommended Gigapros for hosting so I purchased a 100Gig Subsonic account. There is no documentation in Subsonic online regarding a Gigapro account, so I am relying on GIgapro support. They are telling me to download some kind of browser Rbrowser, which I did. Not clear on why I need a separate browser to upload files from my Mac to GIgapro just so I can use Subsonic but so be it. I am not sure how to use Rbrowser however and the credentials they gave me for Winscp don''t work. So I am stuck with no subsonic and no way to upload files. Even if I cant get the gigapro and the Rbrowser to play nice, shoulndt I just be able to specify a directory in SS and get up and running ?

Evening Update: Well I've been at it all afternoon and Gigapros have been very responsive in replying to my Subsonic trouble tickets (in contrast to Subsonic !) , though I don't think they understand how lost I am. Gigapros recommended i download Filezilla (i guess they don;t want me using Rbrowser that they had me download earlier but which wouldnt let me log in,) which I did and I am actually able to log in. So now I am logged into Filezilla, Gigapro and Susbsonic.

So, how do I get my music into subsonic ?

1) Exactly where do I upload the files to ?

2) How do I tell subsonic to find the files there ?

Thank you in advance for any help

1. Wherever you want. Create a directory somewhere and upload to there. Make a note of the name of the directory, and be sure to give access to whatever account Subsonic is using to run.

2. In the settings, under "Media Folders" add the folder name that you made a note of above.

I'd also recommend spending a few minutes searching Youtube for Filezilla How-To's to aquaint yourself with how it works..you'll be a power user in no time. Cheers!
