Hi,

I can't access your Subsonic install either. I did a few quick checks though, and I can tell you that it's not DNS -- this resolved to an IP okay:

Code: Select all
$ dig +short A somercamb.subsonic.org
66.49.215.227

I'd guess you're unable to access your server because either:

  • Subsonic has been stopped or has stopped responding -- can you access it via the computer's IP? e.g. 192.168.1.100:4040
  • your home IP address changed and your server hasn't phoned home yet to update your subdomain; maybe restarting Subsonic will do this? If you visit your subsonic.org address again and wait for a few seconds, you should be redirected to your.ip:port, where port is usually 4040 (the default). Does address match what you see here? https://secure.internode.on.net/webtool ... textonly=1 (you'll need to run this from your home connection)
  • your router has an issue with UPnP and hasn't opened the port for you; you'll need to check your settings. We might be able to help if you could let us know your router's brand name/model number

Your server is not responding.

somercamb.subsonic.org returns http://209.6.49.60:4040/subsonic/

but the webpage is unavailable.

All this tells me is that subsonic.org is redirecting the request to the ip shown, but there is no server answering the request.

This can be due to any of the following:

1) The server is not running.
2) subsonic .org has the wrong ip address on record - if so, go to Settings/Network and Save to update the current external ip address information and retransmit same to subsonic.org so that redirection now goes to the correct ip address.
3) The most common cause for not connecting is that the port forwarding is not set up correctly or a firewall is blocking the connection. You can test easily by going to Canyouseeme.org and entering the port you have designated for Subsonic to use, in your case it is probabloy 4040 unless you have changes it.

You will NEVER-EVER connect from outside of your network unless/until you get a response from canyouseeme.org that the port is open.
