*bump*

Just installed subsonic and am working on the same thing. It has me really curious when you click play on phone, what kind of file exactly does it launch, all i see is play if i try to save it for a filename. I am in control of my blackberry enterprise server so i'm going to start looking into settings on there and let you know if i find anything. I know a lot of streaming programs etc require that the bandwidth be opened up on the BES itself so i'll see what i can figure out.

"Play on phone" returns a .m3u playlist file.

BTW, I'm currently working on a JME (Java Micro Edition) player that hopefully will improve the mobile phone functionality dramatically.

Cheers,

Time Frame for JME app

Postby crisbtreets » Wed Jun 25, 2008 8:48 pm

I was just looking around in the source code for the JME player and it looks like you are pretty close to having a working app. Any estimate on how long before we see a beta of this. It has the potential of making mobile streaming sooooooo much easier.

I am a Java developer in Boston and I have been interested in dabbling with JME.

Yeah, a first version of the JME player is pretty much complete, and I hope to have a beta out in a week or two.

Unfortunately, I get quite unsatisfactory results when testing it on a real phone, but I'm not sure it if's a problem with the phone, the network operator or my software. Anyway, I'd like to release it to get some feedback from you guys.

Just upgraded to Beta 1. Loaded the player app via the download phone player link in the wap browser on my bb curve. The download and install went without a hitch, able to browse collections upon configuring the settings, but when i try to play a song or songs, it sits there on connecting for about 30-45 seconds and then comes up error: -6. Any help?

**edit**
FYI I will be out of country on vacation for the next 6 days so I won't be able to provide much feedback after the next 8 hours. I will check back as soon as i get home though and see what i can do.
