Resolved: Can't Connect

I've done all the port forwarding steps to my router (linksys EA4200) my cpu is on a static ip adress but everytime i go to connect my also i'm running windows XP
http://YOURNAME.subsonic.org i get this message that follows ---> is registered, but could not connect to it. (ConnectTimeoutException) Please help as i am dying of crappy music at work!!!

Test your chosen port on canyouseeme.org...it needs to pass that test to be functional. Cheers!

Reason: Connection timed out

^if thats supposed to be my ip adress that is wrong?? or maybe i'm doing something wrong???

Did you mean to test port 80? It is recommended to use a different port, as often port 80 is blocked by ISP's for servers. The default 4040 should work just fine. The IP is your public (ISP assigned) IP address.

tried to run test on port 4040 & tried 4043 and this is what i get

Error: I could not see your service on 98.23.130.254 on port (4040)

Okay..double-check on the server machine (with SS running):
127.0.0.1:4040 and your server pops up. If yes, and fails the canyouseeme.org test, your server machine (eg. firewall) OR router is still blocking 4040 from the outside world.

i did that using my static ip and it took me to the subsonic login page and was able to login just fine

Is there an exception in local firewall for Subsonic?

Both...once they have an exception for Subsonic, go ahead and test your server IP:4040 on another local (lan) machine (even a smartphone on your wlan will do) to verify. Once the lan can see your server, we'll test for wan.
