Hello,

I'm new to Subsonic and this forum. I received the error message below when I logged into my server.

Looks like your music is in a folder that the username that Subsonic is using does not have access to.

Either change subsonic to run using a username that does have access, grant access to the files for the username that subsonic is using now, or copy the music to someplace that the existing user account DOES have access to (and delete the old copies once it works).

HTH,

Glenn

Thanks for your quick response.

I see now that the file in question is a song that I played on at work on my Mac, using the Chrome App.
My server is a Windows 8 PC at home.
But I got this error when I tried to access using a web browser at a friend's house (i.e. no app, just the browser)

So do you think the problem stems from Subsonic somehow locking/unlocking access across the different machines?

Peace,
marka1955

So you are saying that the same file sometimes work via subsonic and sometimes does not, depending on the client application?

I find that hard to believe... the subsonic server can either read the file or it cannot.

I'm sorry. I wasn't clear.

The error message does not prevent me from using the server, or playing the song. It just pops up, I dismiss it, and go on.
And, the song plays with all clients.

And, now I find that I can't reproduce the error.

So, problem solved!

Peace,
