Stream to external media player
Subsonic Server: Version 4.7 Licensed
Running on: Ubuntu server 10.04 (working as expected, accessible from web interface internally and externally for video and audio)
Specs: unsure of exact specs as I am at work and can't check, but it does happily play high resolution media, stored locally, on VLC media player.
I currently use the above PC as a basic media center hooked up to my TV, it has a GUI for navigating the local storage and selecting media to play. It also has spotify installed but that is pretty much redundant now I have Subsonic up and running.
I want to be able to place the server elsewhere in the house on the network and connect my Raspberry Pi to the TV and use it to pick up the stream.
Here in lies the problem, I do not know how to connect to the stream via an external player such as VLC media player for Windows or OMX for the Pi.
Ideally I would like to be able to control this from the web interface which I believe is possible.
Any assistance with this will be greatly appreciated.
