I am trying to re-set up Subsonic. When I type ipconfig in the dos box to verify my ip address it comes back with a line saying media disconnected. I can see my ip address but when i try to set a static address it tells me that is not possible with the media disconnected. I don't know what media it is talking about. I can play music locally with my server address but cannot stream over my phone due to a lack of static ip address. Any ideas?

Run an "ipconfig /all" and post here. Chances are you are connected on one connection (wireless) but not on another (wired).

I am definitely connected on wireless, not wired... i can't copy the text from ipconfig but the short of it is I can see an ip address for a wireless connection (connection number 5), the rest say media disconnected. I had all this up and running less than a week ago, just on a wireless connection, then i allowed a java update that seems to have screwed it all up. I got rid of that java update and reinstalled subsonic, went through the whole process again, step by step, but now i can't set a static ip address. Every time I try to, it knocks off my internet connection, and sets a new router ip address... started out with a 192.168.0.1, now i am at a 172.16.0.2, which will log me into my router where i can set an ip address, but once in it is showing the ip address as 69.xxx.xx.x whatever. Not the best with computers here, but i made this work the first time...getting very frustrated this second go round of like 5 days of troubleshooting now. I'll type out what comes up with ipconfig best i can
Wireless LAN adapter wireless network connection 6:
Media State.......: Media disconnected
Connection Specific DNS suffix..:
Wireless LAN adapter wireless network connection 5:
Connection Specific DNS suffix..:
Link local IPv6 Address.......: fe80::994c:4694:7ff9:7c5c%36

Subnet Mask...................: 255.255.255.0

Connection Specific DNS suffix
Tunnel adapter isatap... {2FE7928A-AF75-4461-96D0 D71F825FB5}

Defaul Gateway
Then 3 more Tunnel adapter isatap blocks saying media disconnected
Then when i login to my router to set a static ip address i see this
