Help resolving playback buffering

I am trying to track down an issue that I have experienced with using Dsub, and Isub.

I am not sure where to look to beging to see what the problem might be with buffering issues when trying to playback music on an ipad or and Android phone.

I recently upgraded to the latest version of Madsonic, but his was present in an earlier version. I would like to stream on the go with either of those apps, and I paid for them so I want to get my money's worth. I realize that it is something else that is causing the slow streaming. But don't know where to track it down.

I have pretty good speeds at home, I am at work so can't post the numbers here. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Well, let's start with a description of what this issue is...playback buffering isn't very illuminating.

Well I should have said playback inconsistencies when playing over mobile. I know that is not very much more informative either. I don't really think this is a buffering issue...

For both Dsub and Isub I found that music would not play or if it would play I would have to "bump" it. I would click maybe 5 seconds into the song and it would play. However with Dsub I reduced the bitrate and since has been playing fine, so maybe that resolved that.

When playing in browser on a pc there are some songs that will have the same problem. If I am playing a songs then sometimes when it tries to go to the next song, I have to click a couple of seconds into the song and it will play fine.

I though maybe this was a transcoding issue, but I have checked the logs and it has been both Flac and MP3 that has caused this. I am having trouble nailing down one symptom to go off of.

My speeds I think are fine.

Try using a mp3 validator on them. Not sure if they would work on flac's or if something else is needed for that, but at least you can see if they detect anything wrong with the mp3's that way.

I can try that, but I think that the files themselves are ok. I spent hours going through my library a couple of years ago validating, correcting, and tagging them. Since that time I have been sort of anal about how I add things to my library, because of that experience.

And I have also used other services with no issue, but I guess they probably match the files and don't play the ones directly off my library Gmusic, spotify... hmm I will test a few out.
