Concerning the cover art

Postby Aaza » Sun Mar 31, 2013 3:48 pm

I set Subsonic up today for the first time and installed SilverSonic on my WP 7.8 Lumia. Apparently SilverSonic has a major bug, which renders it unable to play neither streamed or locally downloaded songs/albums which does not have cover art set in Subsonic. As I built the database Subsonic applied cover to many of the albums, but not to most. As natively a non-english speaking and Finnish speaking person I usually have cover files in the album directory as follows: CD.jpg, kansi.jpg (=cover.jpg), takakansi (=back cover.jpg). It seems that when the directory lacks cover.jpg file Subsonic picks the first file for the cover file alphabetically. Can this be changed in any way? On the other hand on many occasion the cover files locate one branch below on the folder tree, for e.g. in a case artist\The Best of [2 CD’s]\CD1\ and …\CD2\. I suppose there isn’t a way to make Subsonic to look the cover files there? Also in my opinion the missing option to browse and select the cover file locally is something to look for to add, as now you only can select from the Google Image search results – or manually rename and/or place cover.jpg on the folder of in case.

Aside from my guestions and suggestions here thanks for a wonderful program!

Have you added kansi.jpg to the list of cover art files in settings/general ?

Everyone is entitled to be stupid, Image but some abuse the privilege!

Due to the confusion from too many genres of music, we have decided to put both country music and rap music into the genre of Crap music.
