Problems with accents and international characters

Postby zapt0 » Sat Apr 06, 2013 8:25 pm

I'm having issues with accents and international characters. This is what it looks like:

In the above picture, Subsonic seems to think the accented files are actually folders.

This is with Subsonic 4.7 (downloaded from site) and openjdk-6 on Debian.

The files are mounted via samba. (With iocharset=utf8 flag).
They display and work fine in every other program, which makes me think this is a Subsonic issue.

I've tried the steps outlined in this thread, but it did not fix the problem.

Do you pass the parameter file.encoding=UTF8 in your subsonic.sh script?

I did it now and it works! Wow, thanks! This has been bugging me for weeks.

Deleting the folder in Subsonic and re-adding it did not solve the issue. Had to remount the folder at another location and then add it again to finally get this to stick.

Here is the line I added to /usr/share/subsonic/subsonic.sh
Code: Select all
-Dfile.encoding=UTF8 \

This goes very near the end of the file, in the ${JAVA} -Xmx${SUBSONIC_MAX_MEMORY}m \ block.
