Not utilizing full bandwidth

Postby BrianDelShasta » Fri Jun 27, 2008 3:39 pm

When I download or stream anything the highest bandwidth I can achieve is around 130KB/s. The bandwidth restriction inside Subsonic is set to 0 (disabled). If I set it to anything less than 1000kbps then it does indeed restrict traffic to that limit. If I set it higher (say 3000kbps) it gets cut off again at around 1040kbps (130KB/s). This is a Windows installation running on the included Jetty web server. This is the second Windows server (upstream bandwidth = 70mbps) I've tried this on and gotten the same result. I've attempted downloads from multiple 10mbps clients.

Anyone else notice this?
Thank you

If I download 2 things at once they are both given about 130KB/s. I'm not sure if this is a limitation of Subsonic or Jetty?

I tried downloading 10 things concurrently and received the same 130KB/s limit on all

Is this not an issue for anyone else at all? I've tried it across multiple servers, so I don't see why it wouldn't be...
I like the relative compactness of Jetty and really don't want to ham up my system with tomcat.

Alright then, for the record I dumped jetty and installed tomcat and am now getting throughput of about 6500kbps, much better ;)
