New Wireless Adapter and connecting via outside IP

I am having an issue where I can't connect from an outside device using my new AC wireless adapter on my Subsonic server. If I reconnect the old wireless N adapter, then connecting from my 4g connection or other outside connection is no problem. Any idea what is going on here?

I assume that you are connecting to a router or some kind. So to make it work at one point you would have had to forward ports to your Subsonic server. When you changed to the new A/C adapter you would have very likely gotten a new IP Address. Did you remember to forward the ports to the new address? Are you using static address or DHCP?

Yes, it is a wireless router. I am using the automatic port fowarding in Subsonic. That is the setting I was using with old adapter and it worked fine. Shouldn't it work with the new adapter?

There should be two addresses you can access it from, your computer ip address that is set by your router on your network via dhcp(assuming your on your network). (mine is 192.168.1.21) so I would do 192.168.1.21:8080 in the address bar and it will pop up, or the ip address that your isp gives you.(so you can access it from the internet if port forwarding is set up)
No matter what you should not be using dhcp for subsonic, and it sounds like you are. dhcp randomly provides you with an ip address chosen by your router. Iv never used the automatic setting for subsonic so I cant tell you how well it works, but you should regardless set up a static ip address with port forwarding for it to successfully work 100% of the time. Also you want to reserve that static ip to guarantee dhcp doesn't randomly give it a way to another device.
If you have set up a static ip address on the old network card, It is likely that those settings are still on that network card. The new card will make a completely separate internet connection, regardless if you took out or left the old network card there. So you will have to add the settings in the new one.

Do I need to put the 8080 in the address when setting up the static ip? Or am just setting up the static IP for the computer that I am running subsonic on?

Just fixed the port forwarding issue. What I did was recheck the automatically forward port box in the network settings of Subsonic. Then I logged into my router and turned on UPnP. With UPnP on, subsonic can forward to the correct internal IP, even if the router changes due to dhcp. Thanks for all of the help!
