SSL port redirection

Hi,
I installed SubSonic on port 4040 for no encryption and port 8080 for ssl encryption.
If I surf to the server (x.x.x.x:8080), the link gets translated to https://x.x.x.x:8443/login.view;jsessionid=xxxxxxxx?
And of course, I get no connection because only port 8080 is redirected.

(If i try this for the pc where subsonic is installed on, the link does not get redirected to port 8443)

Any ideas?

Try using another port. I think I already read somewhere there was a problem using a port which have a pattern or resemblance with the 80 HTTP standard port.
Why aren't you using 443 anyway? Use Apache 2 as a proxy server. I can show you my configuration if you want!

I never use 443. I'd recommend anything else - perhaps 445 or 8443 which I think is the Tomcat SSL default.
