Can't connect to server

Postby dschultz2 » Sun May 26, 2013 2:38 pm

I have had subsonic for a while and have had no problems. I take my computer and drive with me to my second home and plug it in and it always works. This time, there is a problem. When I go to the "Network" area, the port forwarding is fine, "Successfully forwarding port 4040." but for the server I get this message, "dschultz2.subsonic.org is registered, but could not connect to it. (ConnectTimeoutException)".

When I try the subsonic demo server on my phone the connection tests "OK" but I cannot connect to my address on the subsonic server. I have changed the password and tried new users and rebooted everything and rescanned everything but I have hit the wall now.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Check to see that the port forwarding is correct. If your not using a fixed internal ip address for your host machine, the router may have given it a new internal ip address and invalidated the port forwarding.

Go to http://canyouseeme.org and check to see if the port is responding.

If not - verify that the host machine id using the correct ip address and the forwarding rule is set properly.

I'm experiencing the same issue. I just installed Subsonic streamer on a new computer and re-entered my license key information. The license was activated properly but everytime I try to register my website address: dustah23.subsonic.org; I get the following error: Status: dustah23.subsonic.org is registered, but could not connect to it. (ConnectTimeoutException)

This same thing occurred last month in a similar situation [updated JAVA, wasn't working, had to do a bunch of reinstalling which didn't seem to fix anything] and, a couple of days later, it just started working again. I have checked http://canyouseeme.org and the PORT IS RESPONDING CORRECTLY!

What keeps causing this? Do I have to go through this everytime I install the Subsonic client on a new computer??

Thanks,
D
