Streaming to MX Player.
Hi guys. I'm new to Subsonic having first set it up shortly before the recent update that added MX playback for video, and I have to say I absolutely love it. The perfect solution I've been looking for ever since Opera Unite was discontinued.
I've been having some issues getting the MX player streaming working. I have the subsonic app installed on 3 android devices. A Nexus 7 running android 4.2.2, a Sony Experia smartphone running 2.3.7 and a Justop K9 smart TV box running 4.1.1.
I'm not sure if my issues are with Subsonic or the host devices firmware (though I suspect the latter) so I was wondering if anybody else has had a similar experience and can help me out.
On the Nexus 7 streaming to MX player works perfectly so long as h/w decoding is turned off, all good
On the Experia MX player launches but then tells me it is unable to play the video file, regardless of decoder, size or format.
On the smart TV box (and this is really confusing me) I installed the subsonic app through Playstore after the update and with MX pre installed but the settings menu does not even display the video submenu allowing me to select a preffered player. Also when playing back through flash player the video will not playback in full screen mode, I can hear the audio but video is just black screen. I have had no fullscreen issues when using flash player from other streaming sources even other instances of JW player, and this does not happen on my other devices.
Anybody else tried running subsonic on an android TV and had these issues? As I said I'm new to this great software, so haven't fully got my head around the ins and outs of it yet, any advice/suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
