Streaming via Satellite Internet
Folks,
I have been a user of Subsonic for about five years or more. I have used it to stream to my iPhone with iSub (mostly) and z-Sub (rarely). My setup was cable for internet and I would receive on my iPhone 3G, 4G or 5 via cellular network or remote WiFi. This worked flawlessly except when cellphone reception was poor. When we moved, we could only get reliable internet via Satellite. Now, with this set up, I get a lot of stream stuttering whether it is 4G, 4G LTE or remote WiFi. Both iSub and z-Sub behave almost identically. I know that the bandwidth of the satellite is not the issue but suspect that the large latency time (typically 800mS) is the culprit. If I am correct, then increasing the size of each message would lessen the effect of the latency. So, two questions: am I right? If I am, is there a way to increase the size of the streamed message? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Blaine
