Preloading when using PC client?

I run bog standard install of subsonic on a Windows 7 machine which I stream to other windows machines and my S3. I play songs when in windows using the built in flash player.
When I play an album on a pc the player pauses for a bit while the transcode starts, pauses for a bit longer while the download is buffered, then plays the song. When the song is finished the process repeats, delays and all. I've always just accepted that this is the way things work.
But now I've just started using the android app and discovered that because it preloads songs there's [almost] no gap, songs flow nicely.
So I want it like that all the time. Is there a way to make subsonic preload songs when playing back on a pc so that there's not this 15 second gap between each song?
