Cannot view videos on android device.

I setup a directory at r:\video\subsonicvideo and put some videos in there. I added this folder to the Media Folders in subsonic. I can view the file listing and play the videos through a webbrowser on a PC, but I cannot even view the files on my Motorola Xoom or Samsung Galaxy S4.
I setup Plex and I have no problems viewing the files and playing them on my android devices. But since I donated to Subsonic I would like it to work.
What do I need to do to get it to work?
