subsonic pegs hard drive

On my linux system, i am running subsonic. However, whenever subsonic is running my harddrive light gets pegged consistantly. When i stop subsonic i the hard drive light stops. I checked with iotop and nothing shows to be usng the filesystem in such a hard manner. Is my subsonic hacked or broken? I see nothing in the logs that would indicate ether one.
