setting up multiple folders

Postby troyb1 » Wed Jul 10, 2013 10:14 pm

Problem Description: i want to be able to add two folders to my subsonic account but be able to access them separate from each other.

EXAMPLE: i want to add two media folders at E:\MY_MUSIC & E:\GROUPRIPS and keep them separate from each other meaning if i do a search or use random on my android app it wont mix the two folders together.

Troubleshooting Steps: i have searched the forum for answers

Playback Application and version: Subsonic Premium V 4.8 on chrome using Dsub android app

Hardware Platform: Win 7

thank you in advance for any help

If you set them up as two separate folders on the server (under Settings -> Media Folders), you should be able to select a folder besides All Music in the app which will only show the media in that folder. The random shuffle should limit the results to only include media in that folder, but I don't think there is any way for me to make the app specify only to search within one folder or another.

Ah if you mean the random albums I don't believe there is any way to get it to restrict the results to a given folder. I can try asking Sindre if he will add it as a optional parameter. I won't be able to do anything until when/if the server is updated though.
