Subsonic Forum

Hi,
Since 1 year, I use subsonic to stream my movie from internet (Linux server) to my PS3.
Everything work well, but since one month, the streaming become very strange.
On some movie, no problem, on other, they work nice for abot 30min, then, become instable, some lag, for 2sec or more.
In the beginning, I think about my internet connection and test with my computer (same movies), OK
I remember that I do a update of my PS3 and subsonic in the same time (4.45 firmware for the PS3 and 4.8 update for Subsonic)
I really think that the problem is the update of the PS3 that break something, downgrade of subsonic to a old version did nohting.
I test with a another PS3 (old FW), it's work, then update to the last version, lag appear.
Did you encounter the same issue ? Can I did something to subsonic ? (reduce the encode quality or hack to use the HTML5 video player)

You should bypass subsonic completely inside your LAN going to your pc. You should set up ps3mediaserver. It is much faster than routing through the subsonic server. I do that myself. Subsonic is used for outside the LAN and PS3Mediaserver is used in house. This probably doesn't answer your question, but that is one suggestion.
