Virtual Host Help Mountain Lion Server
I have zero experience with Apache .....but have been running Subsonic for almost 2 years without problem.
Version Subsonic, originally written by Sindre Mehus. Built with MusicCabinet plugin, version 0.7.24c, on March 25, 2013.
Server jetty/8.y.z-SNAPSHOT, java 1.7.0_25, Mac OS X (45.3 MB / 186.6 MB)
Mac Mini Server running OS X 10.8.4 Mountain Lion Server. The Mini handles VPN, Web, DNS and DHCP services.
I am running the Stand Alone version of the Music Cabinet mod. Music Cabinet default port is 4040 internal, 80 external. I configured my Linksys E3000 port forwarding manually using defaults.
I am not using subsonic.org, I have my own domain from Go Daddy. Call it mydomain.us
Everything works great. Mydomain.us points correctly to my external IP. The router is forwarding properly, no DNS issues and all is well.
I have added a second web site, info.mydomain.us. I added a CNAME to Go Daddy. I configured DNS settings using the GUI in Server App. I turned on Web Services and added info.mydomain.us, and configured port 8000 external and internal. Everything works fine. Mydomain.us goes to Music Cabinet Log-in, info.mydomain.us:8000 points to my new site.
My goal is to drop the :8000 on my info.mydomain.us site, even better, combine the 2 sites. I have been reading this forum and Apache documentation. I am guessing I need to set up virtual hosting in Apache. Is this correct?
Do I need to get both sites on the same port? Would it be better to move both sites to 80 internal and external or is 4040 preferred for some reason? To change port in Music Cabinet I know I need to edit the .sh file. Do I edit in the area under Java settings? Changing ports is easy in OS X Server App so no problems there. I think I have a handle of port forwarding my router.
It looks like I also need to edit the httpd_serverapp _conf located in /Library/Server/Web/Config/apache2. Is this right? What do I edit?
Ideally I would like to combine the sites into one. My info.mydomain.us site would have a Subsonic log-in page (re-direct?) that would send you to the stand alone Music Cabinet site. Would this involve editing jsp files?
Can anyone walk me through the steps? Keep in mind I am not very knowledgeable about Apache but I can follow directions.
Thanks in advance!
