(ConnectTimeoutException) What is this and how do I fix

Greetings,

I am writing this question/assistance with the full knowledge that it may have already been posted and answered by someone else.

I am trying to get my subsonic up and running.

Status: Successfully forwarding port 4040.

Status: *******am.subsonic.org is registered, but could not connect to it. (ConnectTimeoutException)

How do I correct/solve this connect Timeout.

Please don't bash my ignorance on this issue, as I don't have the full knowledge yet.

Check port forwarding and firewall.

If you go to http://canyouseeme.org and enter your Subsonic port number it must respond as open or you won't be able to connect from outside.

Thanks for your response and I got the following:
Error: I could not see your service on 75.181.92.74 on port (4040)
Reason: Connection timed out

Then your router is probably not forwarding the port properly. The Tutorial section has good instructions that explain how to trouble shoot the issue. My post in the Windows/Anddoid section is relevant for any OS. Let me know if you have trouble after reviewing the tutorial.
