Streaming problems localy

This is my first day with subsonic and so please forgive any ignorance on my part, but im having a few problems that ive described below.

can someone please help

Problem Description: I can stream to my android and apple devices using the internet address, but not the local address (http://myname.subsonic.org works, but http://localhost....... doesnt)
Troubleshooting Steps: I've checked the port is forwarded, got this message "Status: Successfully forwarding port 4040." but i havent manually done this yet, using a virgin media superhub
Playback Application and version: android and iphne versions, latest version from playstore and appstore respectively
Subsonic Version: 4.8 (build 3434) – April 17, 2013
Server Version: jetty-6.1.x, java 1.7.0_10, Windows 7 (55.0 MB / 102.6 MB)
Hardware Platform: (windows
Java Memory Limit: (150 i think

localhost will only work from the server - not from any other device on the network.
You have to use the server internal ip add:port no to access or just use the subsonic.org address which sorts that out for you :? (which is why its working :) )

If you use your subsonic.org address from within your local network, it will resolve your IP address to the internal address of the computer you are on. If you are on the same computer that the server is on, it will work, but if you are on another computer, it won't work.

As BKKK suggested, just use the internal IP address and port number of the server while on your LAN and you will be OK.
