Hi all wonder if someone can help.
I've only just noticed this problem as have been using wifi a lot but for some reason SS has stopped downscaling my mp3's.
I have everything ripped at 320 mp3 format and have my android phone set to max 250 when using mobile data and my username/player set to 250 to match but when I try to play a track it doesn't download/stream anything and then just stops. If I change the settings back to 320 or unlimited it works fine but of course buffers constantly due to mobile data signal.
I have had this problem before but deleting the partially downloaded track and starting again has always resolved it in the past but alas no more.
Any thoughts people?

Still struggling with this issue and am now wondering if down scaling was ever working?
I've discovered that all of the first batch of files I loaded were all at 256kbs, thought they were 320 my mistake, so maybe they werejust streaming fine without down scaling the whole time.
Have tried to make some sense of the various mentions of down scaling on here and in the server settings but am getting confused.
Can anyone give me a bit of direction please, are mp3's down scaled in the stock setup or do I need to add anything?

In the transcoding settings I believe you might need to add mp3 to the from line for the mp3 transcode. Beyond that mine just worked.

Thanks, I did try adding mp3 to the from line but it stopped streaming alltogether? After putting things back to normal it works again but still not down scaling.
Don't suppose you fancy testing for me would you? Could you copy a 320kbps mp3 on to your system and see if it will stream at a reduced bit rate?

I have a ton of mp3's, many of which are 320kbps and the downscaling works fine for me.

Sad day today have finally decided enough is enough and have removed SS from my network.
Haven't got anywhere with getting my files to downscale and Sindre isn't answering emails so no choice really not much point having a music streamer that doesn't stream.
Thanks for the help in the past guys but it's bubble for me from now on complete with all the features we've been asking for for so long.
