Ubuntu Server - Subsonic service stops every night?
Hi all,
Been really enjoying subsonic on windows already, but I thought I'd give it a shot on linux, especially since I'm a newbie at it so I thought it would be a cool way to learn something new.
So I've got Ubuntu server 12.04 running on a virtual machine, subsonic installed, windows shares mapped, everything works great. However, there's one thing I can't get my head around: every morning when I arrive at work, start my personal laptop to listen to my music, subsonic is unavailable and I have to manually start the subsonic service by remotely connecting to my home server running my VMs.
Does anyone else have this behavior? Is it normal that a service stops if unused? How do I get it fixed?
I've searched around on the interwebs thinking it might be because ubuntu server goes in some sort of sleep mode and kills unused services or processes but even after adding the acpi=off argument in grub, i'm still getting this behavior.
If someone could shed some light on this it would be really appreciated...
EDIT: I'm guessing there's a log that could tell me something about this problem, but where would it be?
Cheerios!
