Subsonic starts but does nothing

Just installed on an Ubuntu machine (I've done several install on other machines with no problem). Subsonic process starts and stays there doing nothing (consumes 1% of cpu, 2% of memory, ports not listed in netstat, no web access).

subsonic is 4.8 debian
java is
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea6 1.12.6) (6b27-1.12.6-1ubuntu0.12.04.2)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.0-b12, mixed mode)

lauch is
java -Xmx512m -Dsubsonic.home=/var/subsonic -Dsubsonic.host=0.0.0.0 -Dsubsonic.port=9090 -Dsubsonic.httpsPort=9393 -Dsubsonic.contextPath=/ -Dsubsonic.defaultMusicFolder=/home/subsonic/Music -Dsubsonic.defaultPodcastFolder=/var/music/Podcast -Dsubsonic.defaultPlaylistFolder=/var/playlists -Djava.awt.headless=true -verbose:gc -jar subsonic-booter-jar-with-dependencies.jar

no error or exeptions in the logs. The subsonic.log says nothing (really empty). the subsonic_sh.log no error

any idea?

Install Oracle Java instead of OpenJDK

Same problem here.

It was working a few days ago and just stopped.

Just upgraded from 4.6 to 4.8 too.

Going to try the fix suggested above. Thanks.

Doing this: http://www.webupd8.org/2012/01/install- ... u-via.html

OK....so I installed Oracle Java.

Still doesn't work. Same error message, etc.

Trying a reboot.

Didn't work. Big bummer.

What do I need to do? This used to work beautifully.

(Ubuntu 12.04)

They are kept in the subsonic.script file

1. stop subsonic service
2. rename the subsonic/db directory
3. start subsonic service : a new database is created.
4. open the old subsonic.script file (in the directory you renamed)
5. select the lines you want to keep (INSERT INTO MUSIC_FOLDER VALUES... INSERT INTO USER VALUES... INSERT INTO USER_ROLE VALUES ... INSERT INTO USER_SETTINGS VALUES ...)
6. in your subsonic webpage, replace "index.view" with "db.view"
7. paste the selected lines

Now you should have your old user settings

I did that. Found it here: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=10326

....and I'm back in action.
