Android subsonic start/stops all the time on bluetooth
Posted: Sat Nov 02, 2013 5:16 pmI have a Nexus 4. The Subsonic app worked fine under android 4.2, but since upgrading to android 4.3, I've had problems when connected to bluetooth in the car. If the phone isn't connected to bluetooth, subsonic works great. However when I connect to bluetooth, 2 things happen. The first is that I can't stop subsonic playing - I press pause, it just starts again. Even if I haven't been using subsonic for a while, the minute bluetooth connects, subsonic starts playing whatever I last had on. This can be fixed by clearing the queue, but it is annoying.
The second, and more serious thing, is that it doesn't play for more than ~3 seconds without pausing for a second, then restarting. It sounds as though the network is jammed, but if I disconnect bluetooth it plays fine. Reconnect bluetooth, it goes back to pausing for ~1 second every ~3 seconds. It makes it completely unuseable.
Any suggestions? Clearly something changed in the bluetooth stack in android 4.3. I also see with my podcast app (podkicker pro) that after the upgrade the android 4.3, I can't stop that playing when the phone's connected to bluetooth either. However podkicker doesn't exhibit the pause/restart behaviour that subsonic does.
