Can no longer access Subsonic anywhere outside of host P

Background: I've been using Subsonic for _years_ now, across multiple PCs and locations. I haven't used it in a few months, but recently decided to go back and use it. It's always one of the first things installed on a new OS wipe.

I have been trying to connect to it today, and cannot access it anywhere outside of the hosting PC. The only major thing that has changed is the upgrade from win8 (where it worked fine) to win8.1. This is my first time trying it since that upgrade to 8.1.

When I try to access it on the PC where it's running, it works great. Even the subsonig.org redirect from my premium account works great. Localhost works, local IP works, and XX.subsonic.org works. From any other pc or device, it is unreachable.

I've completely disabled the Windows Firewall, and am trying to access the host system's IP _directly_ from other PCs and devices on my network. All other network apps work: XBMC, Remote Desktop, Ping, SSH, and Apache, all work fine when attempting to connect to the host.

What am I missing here?

Things I've tried:

- upgrading to latest beta
- uninstalling, reinstalling
- opening ports closing ports, completely disabling the firewall
reboot, restart subsonic, etc

No luck.

Check to make sure your firewall is pointing to the correct IP. My IP address changed when I upgraded to 8.1 (although I run my Madsonic in a VM, so I wasn't really affected).

As stated earlier, the firewall is completely disabled.

Sorry, meant "router"...

I'm quite certain the router is not really an issue.

Re-enable the firewall on the host pc, then ensure you create an exception for the firewall for Subsonic. IPCONFIG on the host machine and write down its LAN IP address. Nav to router's homepage and check the port you originally had open for this server, and ensure it indeed still has the same host pc IP address and port entered as a pinhole. If so, test WAN using canyouseeme.org for your chosen port. No joy, delete the pinhole, reboot router, re-create the new pinhole, reboot router, and re-test port at canyouseeme.

Thanks for that canyouseeme link, that worked great.

Strange! Even with the windows firewall completely disabled and the service stopped, it was still active. I had to uninstall Subsonic, manually remove all of its remaining rules, reinstall, and then left the firewall rebuild those rules. Works again now. Must be something new I'm not aware of with the firewall in windows 8.1?
