Subsonic Forum

Hello everyone!

I am new to subsonic and was really excited to signup and I just bought the premium account and the app (isub) but I cannot get it to work off of my mac.

" Access your server over the Internet using an easy-to-remember address.
http://.subsonic.org
Status: XXXXXX.subsonic.org is registered, but could not connect to it. (ConnectTimeoutException)"

I know it has something to do with port forwarding and I have looked at all the forums and done everything they said to do (I think).

I checked the port forwarding box
"Automatically configure your router to allow incoming connections to Subsonic (using UPnP or NAT-PMP port forwarding).
If your router can't be configured automatically you can set it up manually. Follow the instructions on portforward.com. You must forward port 4040 to the computer running the Subsonic server. Status: Successfully forwarding port 4040."
I have added port 4040 exception to my router and added an exception to my firewall for 4040.
Still NOTHING is working

I am on an iMac (OSX 10.6.

Test your port at canyouseeme.org. Only when it passes that test will the service work. Reboot your router after making any changes.

port 4040 is being blocked
"Error: I could not see your service on 68.XXX.XX.XX on port (4040)
Reason: Connection refused"
but port 80 is not.
Success: I can see your service on 68.XXX.XX.XX on port (80)
Your ISP is not blocking port 80
How can I change subsonic to be on the open port 80? Is there a way to do that?

Also I cannot get the control panel to work.
If I select it all it says is

Subsonic

Hide or Exit

There are no other options available

I turned off my firewall completely and it worked!
But I don't want to have to do that.

I checked the firewall setting and subsonic is the the approved list.
I downloaded Wateroof for mac and created a rule "allow tcp from any to any dst-port 4040" but this has not helped either.
I am completely out of ideas. I am not going to turn off my computers firewall just so this will work. There has to be some way to get this port around it.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.
