Subsonic not playing files unless runas user is domain admin

Postby xphiles » Mon Dec 02, 2013 5:08 am

Hello,

I setup on Subsonic on Centos 6.3 to move it off my Windows XP setup since XP is going EOL soon. I followed all of the tutorials I found online. It is running, though randomly I have to rejoin the centos box to the domain on reboot then make it work. However, one thing I cannot do, is make it play files unless the subsonic user, which is an AD user in my 2008 domain, is a Domain Admin. I mounted the windows network share as a local share in /media/music as suggested elsewhere. When I run an LS command, I can see the files there, but the system will not play them unless I make user subsonic a domain admin. In the share on the local box , I made the user subsonic have ALL Permissions to all of the folders under mp3z (the folder my music is in). I have subsonic user set up as a service account that has no logon privs to windows boxes (i realize this means nothing to centos), to try and keep my network more secure. Eventually after a while, subsonic may throw an error, and of course now that I want to show it, it won't happen.

Is there anything I am missing here? Should I have to make Subsonic an admin on the local box as well? I don't want to have to copy all my music to my local centos install and then make it work that way, that would defeat the purpose of network shares and AD integration, the shares are backed up. I dont see any tutorials on here regarding CentOS. I saw one for ubuntu, but I want to run it in a sans gui environment so it runs smoother and uses less resources on my ESXI machine. Is there anyone here who has a linux install of subsonic, with AD integration, that is working just fine?
